At 10:18 AM on July 17, upon the precise pouring of the final layer of fair-faced concrete to the designed elevation, the outer cylinder structure of the chimney for Gansu Nenghua Qingyang 2×660 MW coal-fired power project was successfully topped out. This milestone marks the official transition of the chimney project into the phases of steel inner cylinder fabrication and installation, corrosion protection and insulation, as well as ancillary construction, laying a crucial foundation for the project's scheduled commissioning and power generation by 2027.

The total height of the concrete outer wall of this roofed chimney is 204 meters, featuring a dual-cylinder design with a reinforced concrete outer cylinder and a steel inner cylinder. Serving as the core facility for flue gas emission control and environmental protection throughout the plant, it presents significant construction challenges due to its great height, high risks associated with elevated work, stringent requirements for concrete appearance and verticality precision, making it one of the most technically demanding and safety-intensive standalone projects in the entire construction effort.

Since the commencement of the chimney foundation work, all parties involved—including the project owner, general contractor, supervision team, and construction units—have maintained close collaboration, overcoming complex construction challenges posed by strong winds, significant day-night temperature variations, and rainy conditions in the Longdong region through a range of measures. For chimney wall construction, a customized high-quality molded wood plywood formwork technique was employed to strictly control common quality issues such as cracks, color discrepancies, and formwork expansion. Combined with partition strips, this approach effectively concealed the holes for tension bolts, resulting in an aesthetically pleasing cylindrical structure with straight lines and a clean concrete finish.

During subsequent construction phases, the project management team will continue to uphold the corporate spirit of "unity and perseverance, innovation and excellence, steadfast commitment, and steady progress." Taking the chimney topping-out as a new milestone, we will rigorously adhere to safety and quality standards, capitalize on the optimal construction period in the second half of the year, reverse-schedule remaining civil engineering milestones, efficiently complete handover procedures for installation tasks, and spare no effort to ensure the successful commissioning of both units by 2027. This will contribute significantly to the development of the Longdong Energy Base and the secure power supply across the province.
