In the golden autumn of October, the "Ice City" Harbin is gradually embracing colder weather, yet the construction site of the Phase II 2×660MW Cogeneration Expansion Project of Guoneng Harbin Thermal Power Co., Ltd. is filled with a bustling, warm atmosphere. At 9:17 a.m. on October 22, the No. 3 exhaust cooling tower, contracted by our company, successfully completed its capping work. This marks a major phased breakthrough in the core construction of the project and lays a solid foundation for the subsequent unit installation and the goal of putting the project into operation in 2026.
Since the project team entered the site in February 2025, it has been facing challenges such as the unique climate in Northeast China, high requirements for construction quality, and narrow and dense operation areas. Despite this, the team has always adhered to the concept of "striving for excellence and building high-quality projects" and solved construction problems through scientific management. Aiming at Harbin's long winter and tight construction window, the project team formulated a special winter construction plan in advance to ensure stable construction quality in low-temperature environments. During the critical stage of cylinder wall pouring, the team monitored the curvature of the cylinder wall in real time to achieve precise forming of each slab, and finally created an elegant tower curve.
The No. 3 exhaust cooling tower was capped 9 days ahead of the scheduled construction period, and this achievement is the result of all the project constructors overcoming difficulties. As the main force in the project construction, we will take this capping as a new starting point to shift to the tower core equipment installation phase. We will continue to optimize the construction process, strictly control the project progress and quality, ensure efficient connection with other sections such as the main workshop and boiler, and make every effort to guarantee the project is put into operation as scheduled.
The smooth and early capping of the No. 3 exhaust cooling tower this time not only demonstrates our company’s technical strength and management capabilities in the construction of large-scale thermal power structures, but also fulfills the enterprise’s responsibility of "serving energy construction and supporting people’s livelihood security". It injects new impetus into the energy transformation and people’s livelihood improvement of the old industrial base in Northeast China.
